Ethereum at Roobet: a closed coin list, and three routes written as a slash

Should you go to Roobet with ether? Its help centre names ETH together with Base and Arbitrum and says it accepts a fixed set of coins and nothing else. The answer for the coin is yes, with one wrinkle in how the routes are written.

Does Roobet take ETH?

Yes. The first sentence of the article lists Ethereum as ETH/Base/Arbitrum among its crypto deposit methods. Further down it closes the list: Roobet only accepts a named set of coins at this time, and sending any other coin or token will result in that cryptocurrency being lost and the account not credited.

What ETH/Base/Arbitrum means

The slash is the only description of routes the article gives. The natural reading is the Ethereum network itself plus Base and Arbitrum, two Layer 2 networks on which ether is also the native gas coin. The article does not write them as a list of network names and does not say which one the cashier shows first, so the cashier is where the choice is made. This page claims no more than the slash says.

For following a deposit, the article points to the Etherscan explorer.

Gas on three lanes

Layer 2 networks bundle many transfers and post them to Ethereum together, which is why their fees are usually lower than the main network's. An L2 transfer has two cost parts, the execution on the L2 and its share of posting data to Ethereum, so it also varies, though over a smaller range.

For Roobet that means a lane can be chosen by price, but only if your wallet already holds ether on that network. If it does not, bringing funds onto a Layer 2 is a transfer of its own with its own fee, and on a small deposit that fee can cancel the saving.

What this page does not say

Roobet's article gives no minimum for ETH and none is supplied here. Promotions, licensing and wagering terms are not described on this page at all; read them where Roobet states them.

What this page says about Roobet was read from Roobet's help-centre article on depositing with cryptocurrency. The cashier inside an account is the current version and wins wherever the two differ.

Questions about Roobet and ETH

Does Roobet accept ETH on Base? Its deposit article writes ETH/Base/Arbitrum, which reads as yes. The cashier shows the current options.
Can I send other tokens to my Roobet ETH address? The article warns that any coin or token outside its named set will be lost and the account not credited.
